Dedicated to meeting the educational and religious needs of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco, Father John Jimenez has served his community for three decades. Recently, Father John Jimenez became the chaplain and science and mathematics teacher at Archbishop Riordan High School on Phelan Avenue. Previously, he was a pastor and an algebra teacher at St. Charles Church and School.

Other congregations under Fr. Jimenez’ care include Our Lady of the Visitation and St. Peter’s churches. As a religious leader, he has spoken out on social ills, including a message about the problems of marginalized communities and the importance of social justice.

Fr. Jimenez has attended to the spiritual welfare of the ill as a chaplain in the trauma and psychological units of San Francisco General Hospital. He also cared for those in need as a missionary in Sudan.

Fr. Jimenez studied for the priesthood at St. Patrick Seminary, graduating in 1998. His secular education included earning credentials as a secondary school educator and social worker at San Francisco State University and studies at City College of San Francisco, where he specialized in calculus, anatomy, and physics.
